Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), Pondicherry

Objective

To provide formative work experience and training in the specialised field of preservation and conservation of architectural heritage, along with a structured plan for professional development.

Project

The Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation initiated its support towards the Pondicherry chapter of the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) through an exhibition, followed by the institution of two fellowship programmes for architects and interns – The Narotam Sekhsaria Fellowship for Students in Conservation Architecture and The Narotam Sekhsaria Fellowship for Trainee Architects in Conservation Architecture.

Impact

The support rendered by the Foundation enables INTACH to carry out these programmes, which foster the exchange of skills and expertise among experienced heritage conservation architects, planners and professionals. It also helps to promote collaborative efforts towards research and development on a national and international scale.

About the Organisation

Set up in 1984, INTACH is India’s largest non-profit membership organisation dedicated to the conservation and preservation of our natural, cultural, living, tangible and intangible heritage.
