Arts Workshops for Marginalised Children

Mainstream education system often follows a standard method of teaching which focuses more on examinations than learning outcomes. Children from resource poor backgrounds who do not have the required exposure are unable to attain higher classroom achievements.

Project

Since 2009, Tara Trust has been conducting workshops in Goa and other projects across India to give an exposure to children from the underprivileged and backward communities to new experiences through arts, to build self-esteem and to make learning fun.

Foundation provided support towards facilitating activities and resource building required to conduct the activities for children in schools and orphanages in Goa.

Impact

Through this initiative Tara Trust has been able to provide comprehensive development opportunities to children living in slum communities in Goa.

About the Organisation

The Tara Trust is a non-profit organisation with the mission to educate, empower and enable the underprivileged (especially women and children) to enhance their lives.

The organisation also supports efficient and financially transparent projects within India, making an impact on the lives of families trapped in poverty.
