A Beacon of Hope For Children in Uttar Pradesh
Despite the economic development in India, educational opportunities for the marginalized communities particularly in the rural areas are still inadequate. Along with geographical constraints, lack of physical infrastructure, trained teachers, teaching learning materials etc, mar the education facilities in rural areas.
The Devi Foundation has set up a primary school (year 2005) up to the fifth standard in village Sarai Harkhoo, Distt. Jaunpur (U.P.) in its endeavour to help under-privileged children living in this remote area and to achieve their goals in education and physical well being. At present 300 children (from nursery to fifth standard) are getting free education in this school. This recognised school is co-ed and consists of 80% children from under-privileged/ backward community living in nearby/ surrounding villages.
The Foundation has been supporting School for its running and maintenance.
Owing to the school managed by Devi Foundation, children from Jaunpur district are able to attain school education.
The Devi Foundation, New Delhi, is actively involved in the preservation and promotion of Indian classical music, and has been running a primary school in a remote region of eastern Uttar Pradesh – the Devi Foundation Public School in the Sarai Harkhoo village of Jaunpur district.
To provide holistic educational opportunities to children in rural areas.
