The Vocational Training Residential Institute, located in Khopoli, Maharashtra, was established in 1989. This Institute aims to equip youth from disadvantaged backgrounds with formal education that will develop their financial and industrial skills, leading to better livelihood opportunities for them. The Institute offers courses in welding, tailoring, motor mechanics, wiring, electrical, stove repairing, as well as basic computer courses. The Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation supported the vocational skill training of 20 young people at the Institute.

About the Organisation

The Chittarranjan Seva Pratisthan is a residential institution founded by Mr. Choudhary, a former Sheriff of Mumbai. The Institute aims to impart vocational training to boys living below the poverty line, enabling them to become earning members of their families.

Issue

Skill Building for India is vital from both the socio–economic and demographic stand points. It is an important tool for reducing poverty, enhancing productivity and employability. Skill building coupled with Financial literacy is the need of the hour which the Government and Civil Society organizations are striving to achieve.
