It also facilitates a mentoring programme that aims to create a network of excellence that would be a catalyst in developing systems across spheres.

Palliative Care

Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation is working on multiple initiatives aimed at sensitising and training healthcare professionals in palliative care. The Foundation in collaboration with BMJ, a well-known publication house in the field of medical academics has developed an online training course on palliative care. Support has also been extended to a few other palliative care initiatives in the field.

Tobacco Control

Tobacco use is projected to cause more than 8 million deaths annually worldwide by 2030 and is linked to 1.3 million annual deaths in India. It is the single most preventable cause of death and disability across the globe. Prevalence of tobacco use varies with geography and smokeless tobacco users are almost twice in number as compared to smokers. Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation supports initiatives for awareness on ill-effects of tobacco use and its cessation.

Cancer Care

The three commonly occurring cancers in India are those of the breast, uterine cervix and oral cavity; together accounting for approximately 34% of all cancers, and hence are a public health priority. Cancer care has been a prime area of intervention for Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation, especially contributing to build access to treatment through promoting prevention, early detection and building capacities of health professionals & institutions.
