BMJ Online Course

Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation partnered with BMJ (originally known as the British Medical Journal) to develop an online curriculum aimed at sensitising healthcare professionals to the essential services of palliative care. More than 200 doctors, nurses, social workers and counsellors have enrolled in the course, of which 30% received scholarships from the Foundation.

Fellowships

The Foundation supports Fellowships for doctors in Paediatric Palliative Care at Tata Memorial Hospital and Non-Oncology Palliative Care at King George V Memorial Trust. The Fellowship programme trains Fellows in evidence-based assessments and treatments in palliative care management under the guidance of experts.

Key Past Projects

Project: In partnership with the World Health Organization, developed an Implementation Framework for National Palliative Care Plan.

Project: Developed a training module for healthcare providers on innovative art and recreational therapy for children in need of palliative care.

Project: Supported successful advocacy activities for availability of Morphine for medical use through the amendment in Narcotic-Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985.

Project: Supported the establishment of the Palliative Care department at Prince Aly Khan Hospital, Mumbai.
