Rural Development

The Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation invests in rural development projects by supporting initiatives that generate employment opportunities. Through this, the Foundation aims to improve the quality of life of the rural community by supporting programmes for natural resource management, animal husbandry, agri-based livelihoods, and introducing newer ways of doing farming and helping farmers establishing backward, forward and horizontal linkages. The water harvesting and recharging initiatives helped to ensure clean and safe drinking water to 1800 HHS, harvesting approximately 2.7 crore litres of water. Farmers have been trained in diversifying agri-produce this has helped in increasing their income levels, some even doubling their incomes. Also, more than 1400 women have created a corpus of 1 Crore 20 lakhs through self-help groups.

Skill Development

The Foundation supports skill and entrepreneurship development of youths. Presently, the foundation is supporting the Ambuja Foundation in running the Skill and Entrepreneurship Development Institute(SEDI) in Chirawa, Rajasthan. The Foundation provides financial support to the institute, enabling it to provide vocational training courses to the youth from the communities in and around Chirawa. The objective is to bridge the skill gap by providing access to training opportunities for improving quality of life. The project also encourages the entrepreneurial spirit among the youths by assisting them to set up their own enterprises. Under this programme nearly 6000 youths have been skilled in various traits and more than 85% have secured meaningful employment.
